TEXT: Romans 1:17, Habakkuk 2:4
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith
faith is the foundational pillar for every Christian life.
The Christian life is a life where Everything is done by faith. Interestingly, your survival as a believer here on earth depends on the level of your faith. The level of your faith in God determines the extent you can walk, experience and enjoy the numerous benefits of the kingdom. Hence, you can’t grow beyond the level of your faith. A faithless Christian is a lifeless Christian. There are two phases of faith in the above scriptural text
- Redemptive faith.
- Victorious faith.
Romans 1:17 and Habakkuk 2:4 says THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY HIS FAITH.
The word Just means justified, made right by the grace of God which we received as a gift through the finished work of Christ. Ephesian 2:8 says for by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Redemptive faith was the saving faith that made every believer just before God. Romans 3:28 says therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. We are made right with God by faith. Therefore, if you believe in Jesus Christ you have unveiled the first phase of faith which is redemptive faith.
Before we enter the next phase of faith, I will like to ask, can a justified believer experience hardship, encounter obstacles and setback, be afflicted or attacked by the devil? An answer to this question will lead us into the next session of this topic.
